Bettina is active as a professional performer and teacher and is based in Melbourne. Her teaching studio is located in Yarraville. In Australia she has performed with the Orchestra Victoria as well as the Queensland, Tasmanian, Adelaide, West Australian, Christchurch and Singapore Symphony Orchestras. While living in Germany, Bettina performed in many of the world’s most famous concert houses, including the Lincoln Centre (New York), Barbican Centre (London) and Konzerthaus Berlin with renowned ensembles including Ensemble Modern. In 2012 she toured with Opera Australia’s “Oz Opera”, and in 2010 she was principal oboe of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.
Bettina is a highly experienced and dedicated teacher, with over 18 years experience in teaching oboe and piano. She is currently on staff at the Melbourne Grammar School, Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School and Loreto Mandeville Hall in Melbourne.
Bettina studied in Germany with world-renowned oboists Heinz Holliger and Hans Elhorst with the assistance of a German Government scholarship. Prior to this she completed a B.Mus. (with honours and university medal). In 2013 she has been furthering her education through studying Speech Pathology at the University of Melbourne, which is further enriching Bettina’s music teaching skills.
