Four generations of our family have had the pleasure of calling Yarraville “home”. When we became a member of the Footscray Historical Society, we learned that we are in a 1920s home and street created and named by the CSR Sugar Works Factory to retain workers. These homes became locally known as ‘Sugar Houses’. To capture this newfound history, we decided to find some CSR artworks for our home, but nothing great was available affordably, and as a ready-to-hang piece in a glass frame. As designers, we set about sourcing, restoring, and creating our own. Soon realising everyone else wants this service too, we created this online resource and store to help you access the history of your home and affordably own a piece of it too.
